Modular Origami- is another type of origami which uses two or more papers to create more larger or more complex kind of Origami. Complex Origami structure which cannot be completed by simple origami can be accomplish through this technique. This kind of origami can be classified as sub-set of multi-piece origami. Remember that origami restricts cutting and and gluing in paper, so same rule or restriction also is applicable to modular origami.
Using this method you can created very complicated form of shapes which is hardly attainable in origami. This kind of origami started in 1973 when Hayato Ohoka publish a book call "Ranma Zushiki" His book contains a print of traditional origami and one of which is cube. With that particular tube which can be viewed in different angles that cube can be describe in Japanese term as Tabatebako which means "magic treasure chest". Years after that many more Japanese origami artist publish same idea Hayato Ohaka but with different design, the most famous of all is a Kudusama or medicine balls - This origami is an origami flower joined together to form balls. In today's term we may describe that as three-dimensional Modular origami, after that China and US has also develop their own models of Modular Origami.
